Ananseman Playhouse, the producers of Ghana's first ever National Students’ Film Festival have had their maiden awards night at the British Council Hall on the 24th of June, 2011. The awards night was held after the thirteen weeks of screening on GTV.

The occasion was graced with the presence of dignitaries, representatives of some corporate bodies and a massive turnout of students and their teachers from the various participating schools.

Hon. James Agyenim Boateng (Dep. Minister for Tourism) chaired the event, Dr. Christina Amoako- Nuama (Presidential Advisor) was the special Guest of Honour, Hon. Baba Jamal (Dep. Minister for Information) was the guest speaker, and Hon. Nii Nortey Dua (Dep. Minister for Youth & Sports) presented special awards. Celebrities like Mr. Ekow Smith Asante and Mr. Albert Jackson - Davies also graced the occasion and presented awards to deserving nominees. Solidarity messages were delivered by Mr. Sarpong-Anane (Acting Director General of GBC) as well as Hon. Agyenim Boateng (Deputy Minister of Tourism).
