Statement from Council of Patrons

The council of patrons of ANANSEMAN PLAY HOUSE hold trusts the welfare, assets, liabilities and financial statements of the organizations. We are a group of dedicated supporters who recognize the role and power of the Arts to transform the lives and communities with our and the help of our international partners.

The year in review has been very productive; our annual meeting was very successful and informative, in that all projects for 2015 has been duly completed.

The council approved the annual and financial reports by the Board and projected a course of action for 2016.

We on behalf of the board appreciate all donations made to our course. These funds supported our program including;

  1. Sports for development
  2. The UN Sustainable Development Goals though ANANSEFEST
  3. Ghana’s tomorrow
  4. Symposiums
  5. Interactive lectures
  6. Drama on television

Excellence and investment in the arts and arts education must be nurtured for the next generation, and that is what Ananseman Play House is about.

To the volunteers and the trainers of the children, young people and women, we are encouraged at your enthusiasm to make a difference. Your personal sacrifices of time, health and money make you special partners and agents of development.

Let each person make a conscious effort to champion the UN Sustainable Development Goals either directly or indirectly to make our world a better place.

Anansefest

ANANSEFEST is the bringing together of children and young people between the ages of 10-19 years to use film as a tool for development.

Symposia & Lectures

To bring out outcomes in the target group we deal with, we begin our first meetings with them through Interactive Lectures or Symposiums. For example, we had both symposiums and lectures on the UN Sustainable Development Goals before continuing with workshops.

In 2015, Ananseman Play House has laid the foundation with GTV to air TV drama series for thirty-nine (39) weeks on five (5) thematic areas of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Ananseman Playhouse, the producers of Ghana's first ever National Students’ Film Festival have had their maiden awards night at the British Council Hall on the 24th of June, 2011. The awards night was held after the thirteen weeks of screening on GTV.
